We want you to feel completely comfortable during your Boudoir Experience. Focusing on this, it is truly up to you how much or how little skin will you show. We love to show our client’s personality, so feel free to bring something special or meaningful to you or your partner. If there’s one piece of advice I can give you regarding how to prepare for a boudoir shoot, it’s this: Relax and don't be afraid to have fun!
We usually start out shooting with a little more clothing. As you become more comfortable, we can work our way through something more ,lets say, artistic if this is what you would like to do.
Not every outfit has to be lingerie. Keep your body type in mind and wear whatever makes YOU feel great and sexy in.
Here are some of our suggestions on what to wear for a Boudoir Photoshoot :
Robes & Kimonos
I highly recommend choosing a beautiful kimono or satin/lace robe for your shoot to start out in. You can do so many different looks with them mixing and matching with your other outfits, and have a little more coverage to start. I recommend a neutral color like black or white for the most versatility.
Bra and Panties
Having at least one bra and undies set or a lace bodysuit (brand new or lightly worn) is recommended. Start with basic black or white and then add colors and patterns. Bras and undies can be photographed alone or paired with any of the other clothing items or accessories. They are also helpful when setting up implied nude poses.
Lingerie
A bodysuit, vintage slip, teddy and/or camisole always photographs well. High wasted undies, Thigh high stockings, a garter belt, and heels are great options too. Start simple and grow more extreme from there. Think about what colors look good on you. We will make sure to match your outfit to the props and accessories as needed.
Casual Attire
Everyday clothing such as sheer tops, jeans, can look cute and sexy if photographed properly. A simple white tank top or cami can be super cute! If this is a gift for your partner then bring something from his wardrobe. Wearing a clothing item of your man’s is a great way to incorporate him into your session. Wearing his favorite sports jersey, his leather jacket, one of his favorite ties, or one of his button-downs is a great way to do this. Anything that makes the images more personal and sexy to him! It also adds variety to your collection of outfits and will look great in the final book.
As Boudoir is not limited to traditional lingerie, also think about flowy dresses, topless with jeans, cami/short sets, rompers, leather jacket, pj shorts and a tee, robes, tank tops. Be creative!
Accessories
You can easily modify the look of your outfit by changing your accessories and moving to a different background. Accessories include jewelry, scarves, hats, stilettos, stockings, garter belts, etc.
Feminine Fabrics
Lace, satin, and sheer fabrics are always a great choice for your boudoir photos. Choosing pieces that are comfortable make all the different in how you feel during your shoot.
